On the 6th July 2019, the school held the annual Speech Day. Guests reminisced about the good old days in the beautiful campus of Chung Cheng High (Yishun) beside the lake that replicates the original lake located at the main campus. This year, we had the honour to have Dr Liu Thai Ker, architect and former master planner of Singapore, who is our alumni to grace this occasion. It was exceptionally meaningful as we are celebrating our 80th school anniversary. From the warm welcome by the lion dance troupe from Chung Cheng High (Main) students to the parade by the various uniform groups as well as the performances, award ceremony and dinner reception, it was a bustling day in the school. The most memorable part was the inspiring speech made by Dr Liu on his own story of success that encapsulated the essence of education and continuous learning spirit in spite of challenges and setbacks, which define a Chung Cheng student. It gave a timely reminder as we stood up to sing our school song with this renewed passion and pride at the end of the ceremony.

To commemorate Chung Cheng 80th Anniversary, the current and past teaching staff and students gathered together as witnesses of our 80th year of development on 27th April. There were around 600 attendees who reminisced their schooling years in Chung Cheng where many memories and friendships were formed. Regardless of the location of the campus, from Kim Yam Road, to Goodman Road, to Guillemard road and the latest Yishun campus, we have all come together as one big Chung Cheng family.
The afternoon was filled with fun-filled and heartfelt activities. The past teaching staff received a warm welcome by the alumni and current students as an appreciation and gratitude of their contributions throughout their time in Chung Cheng. Principal of Chung Cheng High (Yishun), Mr Tan Yee Kan, also gave a thank you speech. Performances such as the festival drum, magic show, photo-taking sessions, school tour, and fund raising for the Chung Cheng School Building Fund were some of the activities. Towards the end of the programme, the different generations of Chung Cheng alumni and current students, sang our school song that marked the intergenerational ties of the Chung Cheng family. It was definitely a touching scene.
